Vantage Control’s BriteTouch Wins RESI Award

Residential Systems Magazine Names the BriteTouch Best Wall Keypad

September 9, 2004 — Vantage Control’s BriteTouch received the RESI Award for ’Best Wall Keypad” at a reception honoring the most innovative product designs in the custom installation industry.

As winners of the first RESI awards, these 12 companies have set the standard for aesthetic design and high-performance engineering,’ said Jeremy Glowacki, editor of Residential Systems. ’In fact, all of the finalists were impressive and should be recognized by their dealers for their craftsmanship and attention to detail.’

The RESI judges--an esteemed panel of three custom installers and three industrial designers--recognized 24 nominees representing 12 product categories as 2004 RESI Awards finalists. Twelve winners were announced at the RESI Awards reception, during CEDIA EXPO 2004 in Indianapolis, IN, September 9, 2004.

Vantage’s entry into the Wall Keypad category of the RESI Awards has been described as the most remarkable new backlit keypad for home control. The BriteTouch keypad is the most customizable and visually appealing automation keypad to date. The keypad features an elegant new design with the incorporation of rounded keys to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Each of up to eight buttons is backlit by a three color LED providing unlimited color choices.

The backlight color is set up to indicate the status of the programming by providing the user with the option to personalize the color for on and off status. A standard ambient light sensor automatically adjusts day/night backlight intensity.

BriteTouch features field changeable labeling. This gives the programmer the flexibility to reprogram a system without the expense of purchasing new faceplates or buttons. Labels are simply printed onto an adhesive backed translucent paper and applied under the button for a perfectly engraved appearance.

The BriteTouch keypad connects to the entire Vantage system which intelligently controls lights, HVAC, A/V, security and more. A subtle built-in IR receiver allows one to control the system using a Vantage remote control.
