In Time For Holidays, Home Theater Projector From Mitsubishi

Ultimate Big-Screen Experience Available at National Retail Outlets

IRVINE, Calif., November 8, 2004 — Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, the industry leader in home entertainment technology and innovation, today announced its new retail distribution outlets for the home cinema projector market. It is launching the new venture with its performance-value home theater projector product, the Mitsubishi Home Cinema HC900U projector, by making them available at Best Buy, Fry’s and ABC Warehouse locations nationwide.

“Home theater projectors are making the move from high-end, custom-installed theater components to something that would work in typical living and family rooms,” said Steve Medina, senior manager of product planning and development for Mitsubishi Digital America’s Presentation Products Division. “In response to this trend we have introduced our first product designed specifically for the mainstream home theater audience. Now, new retail customers can see a quality projector capable of a fabulous 300” screen image from a tiny six-pound box.”

A True Home Theater Experience
At a holiday MSRP of $2,995, the HC900U offers bright, high contrast big-screen viewing at a price competitive with smaller direct-view and rear projection alternatives. And for families with a space crunch or a flair for home design, the Mitsubishi Home Cinema HC900U is compact and light enough for an easy, unobtrusive ceiling or shelf mount, or it can be simply stored away in a cabinet, drawer or closet after use to leave the room open and no longer requiring TV-centric styling.

The HC900U is powered by DLP™ chip technology and offers Mitsubishi’s CineRich™ Color, which controls white enhancement to create just the right rich dramatic color for any type of content. CineRich Color lets users enhance white level for sports or videogames, or enhance color for the best cinematic experience.

The learning remote control unit included with the HC900U is easily programmed to operate two additional video sources, such as a DVD player or VCR, allowing effortless switching between display sources and eliminating the need for expensive control systems. With 1,500 lumens of brightness and up to a 4,000:1 contrast ratio the HC900U provides customers with the type of vivid image they have come to expect from direct-view and rear-projection televisions.

This new projector also features Mitsubishi’s proprietary CineView™ video processing technology that offers artifact-free video performance, reduces jagged image edges, and creates smooth displays of action sequences during video playback. Its CineFocus™ technology provides an electronic aperture control that increases black and contrast levels automatically; users may also adjust the settings individually to get the best picture from the projector for any movie viewed.

“The holiday home theater market is going to be very exciting this year,` said Aki Ninomiya, vice president, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. “The availability of these projector products at retail is a creative and flexible alternative to those wanting the home cinema experience at a very affordable price.”

Winning Products to Be Previewed and Demonstrated During The Consumer Electronics Showcase

LEXINGTON, KY-- The International CES has honored ELAN Home Systems’ products with two Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase Awards. Chosen from among more than 800 entries from 347 companies, the products honored are ELAN’s new Multi-Room Audio / Video Controller, System12, and the company’s new VIA!2 Home Theater Control System.

Sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the International CES Innovations Awards highlight product advancements in technology design and engineering. Winning entries will be showcased at the 2005 International CES, the world`s largest annual tradeshow for consumer technology, January 6-9, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

`It’s been a spectacular year for ELAN,` said Bob Farinelli, ELAN’s President and Chief Technical Officer. `The entire ELAN team is excited and honored with the many accolades we have received this year – chief among them being these two CES Innovations awards. These awards are additional validation of ELAN’s leadership position in the Home Theater and Multi-Room Entertainment industries, both of which we are dedicated to serving by continually developing and providing unique new product offerings for their respective constituencies.”

The following products are Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase honorees in the Integrated Home Systems and Home Theater categories:

The System12 (S12) offers more audio and video source inputs and outputs at a better price than any other A/V Multi-Room Controller available in the custom installation market today. This controller has an staggering array of features including plug-and-play video routing and a 16 X 16 video switcher which allows consumers to route up to 16 video feeds to any television, monitor or touch panel in their home. The S12 also allows users to distribute up to 12 A/V sources (plus four extra video sources) into eight zones, and has an additional 8 inputs for local sources – one for each zone. The unit is fully RS-232 controllable. Designed to be a flexible controller, the S12 can be easily configured to handle medium to large-scale projects. As an added highlight, the D1650 Digital Power Amplifier serves as a companion piece for the S12 and allows for even higher-quality, stereo audio to S12’s eight zones.

The VIA!2 Home Theater Control System allows you to control every aspect of a home theater from a wireless, full-color, 10.4” touch panel. The “smarts” behind VIA!2 is a home theater control station that translates and executes 802.11g commands from the wireless panel. The slim-profile wireless 10.4” color touch panel features selectable ‘motifs’ to use as backgrounds for function buttons that can be arranged and labeled as desired. A recharge/docking station is included in each package.

The VIA!2 Home Theater Control System is the newest addition to ELAN’s award-winning VIA! Touch Panel line of products, and has been designed to set a new bench mark for simple, yet powerful Home Theater control. The VIA!2 is programmed using the same easy-to-use Dealer setup software as the original ELAN VIA!®Touch Panel and all ELAN keypads, making it easy for Dealers to add a wireless touch panel offering to their product line without the huge learning curve usually associated with such specialty products.

“From the Dealer’s design and installation perspective, the fact that VIA!2 is programmed with the same setup software that they have been using for years to program many ELAN products, including our original touch panel and all our keypads, gives them a high level of familiarity and confidence right out of the gate. This ultimately provides them with the means to deliver the best in Home Theater control to their clients, while obtaining increased profitability,” added Paul Starkey, ELAN’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Honorees were chosen from a panel of prominent industry designers, engineers and journalists judged the Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Awards. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) endorses the showcase and acts as advisers to it. Product evaluations are based on weighted criteria: user value, aesthetics, contributions to the quality of life and innovative qualities.

With its distinguished reputation as a top consumer technology awards program, the International CES Innovations 2005 showcases the best products in design and engineering in 27 categories. The products will be previewed and displayed in ELAN’s suite on the 28th floor in the Las Vegas Hilton during the 2005 Consumer Electronics Showcase, as well as in the new Innovations Plus pavilion in the CES Central Plaza of the LVCC. During the show, additional information regarding ELAN’s Suite room number can be obtained by visiting with an ELAN staff member at Booth (#26411) in the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall (LVCC South).

DH Labs Introduces A Host Of New Products At CES 2005

New cables and interconnects target the audiophile and home theater markets.

Las Vegas, NV – CES 2005 – Alexis Park Suite#1810– DH Labs Inc. introduces a host of new products for the audiophile and home theater markets. These new products make use of the highest purity metals and materials that are sourced from the USA, & represent DH Labs’ commitment to high-quality, high-value products.

Gravitationally Compensated Audio Cables

If the moon’s gravitational pull has the power to move entire oceans, imagine what it does to the tiny electrons traveling through your audio cables. In light of this, DH Labs has created the world’s first gravitationally compensated audio cables. By using electro-gyroscopic technology, DH Labs has defeated the laws of physics, and the results are spectacular. This new technology necessitates maintaining a double inventory, as all cables shipped to the southern hemisphere must have their conductor strands wound in the opposite direction. Monitoring circuitry is included to maintain calibration should the planet’s magnetic poles ever reverse.

PURE SILVER “Revelation” XLR Interconnect:
Audiophiles have long known that a balanced connection between their components provides a wider soundstage, increased dynamics and a quieter background. The Revelation XLR is a Balanced version of DH Labs’ acclaimed Revelation. This product features six strands of solid core silver in an air-spaced, tape wrapped Teflon dielectric. The result is an interconnect, that is as clear and uncolored as any on the market at any price. MSRP - $350 for 1-meter pair.

HC Alloy Locking Banana Plug:
DH Labs recently introduced their HC (High Copper) Alloy RCA interconnects that feature the highest copper content in the industry. Carrying this technology over to their speaker cables, DH Labs introduces the HC Alloy Locking Banana Plug that is four times more conductive than all other locking bananas. The HC Alloy guarantees the highest conductivity in the industry, while the “locking” configuration ensures the connection won’t come loose. A free sample of this connector is available to all CES attendees at the DH display. MSRP - $15/each.

Founded in 1991 by electrical and sound engineers, DH Labs is committed to producing innovative audio/video cables and connectors that deliver the highest level of sound and video quality possible. DH Labs pioneered the use of silver in audio interconnects, and is focused on sourcing top quality materials and manufacturing in the USA.
