Vizualogic Brings Media-on-Demand System to Automobiles with the DS-3000
CORONA, CA – Imagine one source for all of your movies, music and memories…a system easy enough for kids and parents to use...a system that offers connectivity for all your devices. Now, imagine it in your automobile. It’s not just a figment of imagination; it’s coming this year from Vizualogic.
The DS-3000™ Media-on-Demand system from the industry’s foremost mobile entertainment manufacturer, will take Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) to a whole new level, bringing content from iPods®, PMP (Portable Media Player) devices and other MP3 players, videos, DVDs, digital cameras, jump drivers and other portable storage devices right into your vehicle.
Vizualogic displayed a Proof of Concept system at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The DS-3000 is based on Vizualogic’s popular A-1000 All-in-One headrest monitor/DVD player, with some major additions:
• A front panel-mounted USB jack allows for iPod, MP3 or mass storage device use.
• WiFi connectivity, allowing for file transfers to the unit via an icon on a home computer.
• An integrated hard drive which will allow video, audio and photo files to be viewed simultaneously on any or all headrest monitors in the system. This would allow one viewer to start a movie, while others in the vehicle can pause/play/rewind the same movie without disrupting other viewers in the vehicle.
“ We see this as the wave of the future,” said Warren Moran, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Vizualogic. “Consumers are looking for an easy way to bring their digital content into their automobiles. And with more than 37 million iPods already sold, we’ve endeavored to introduce an iPod-compatible product that will allow consumers to access those files while on the road.
“ Since the unit displayed at CES is a proof of concept, some of the features may change as we gauge consumer reaction,” Moran added.
And because the DS-3000 will be designed from the existing A-1000 headrest system, it will be available to fit the thousands of A-1000 vehicle/model/color applications the company now offers.
