Lutron Electronics Adds Five Shades to its Satin Colors Collection

Coopersburg, PA - Lighting control manufacturer Lutron Electronics Co., Inc., is adding five new colors to its popular and stylish Satin Colors collection of richly-colored dimmers, switches and accessories.

The Satin Colors collection includes numerous styles of dimmers and switches, plus accessories–wallplates, phone jacks, cable jacks, ceiling fan controls and receptacles–in 20 shades.

The five new colors reflect an earthier trend in furnishings, tile, paint, and wallpaper and give customers more options in their design choices. They’re available in Lutron’s Maestroâ, Divaâ, and LyenoÔ Lx product families.

The following colors are being introduced:

Goldstone. Goldstone’s ochre shade and speckled stone appearance coordinates with a broad array of stone finishes, color washing, and frescoed looks. Goldstone’s rich, warm, golden hue provides a sophisticated air to any décor.

Mocha Stone. The textural appearance of mocha stone is indicative of natural stone, and works well with contemporary neutrals and classic browns. Because of its texture, mocha stone easily coordinates with granite, marble, travertine, and limestone materials.

Palladium. This chameleon gray tone blends with both cool and warm grays, and pairs well with the many lighter toned granites and solid surfacing materials. Palladium is considered an alternative to stainless steel with its cool, contemporary sophistication—yet it also complements the warm, earthy tones of ceramic tiles.

Plum. A blend of warm red and cool blue, plum is a classic transitional color that works well in any type of room and with any style. Splashes of plum can be a supportive accent for every color palette, as well as work as a stand-alone shade.

Turquoise. Turquoise blends well with the iridescent and glass tiles in style in today’s bathrooms. In other rooms it complements metallic finishes, especially copper and silver. It also works well where a bright accent is desired.

In addition to the five new colors, Satin Colors include hot, merlot, sea glass, taupe, eggshell, biscuit, snow, midnight, sienna, terracotta, greenbriar, bluestone, desert stone, stone, and limestone. The entire Satin Colors collection can help you differentiate yourself with your clients, enhance your value, and build your business.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ. – February 27, 2007 -- DBL Distributing, Inc., one of the largest and fastest growing wholesalers of consumer electronics products and accessories in the United States, was recently named Monster Cable’s ''Domestic Distributor of the Year'' at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Monster Cable Products, Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of high performance cable and power conditioning products.

The ''Domestic Distributor of the Year'' award winner is chosen from the entire roster of U.S. based distributors that market Monster Cable® products. The selection is based on production, profitability, and persistency in securing and retaining business, and most importantly, the overall quality of the company and the services it provides.

Monster Cable’s National Sales Manager of Distribution and Special Markets, Dennis Shultz, cited DBL’s achievement of double-digit sales growth every year, as well as DBL’s ability to roll out new products faster than any one else, as reasons for naming DBL Distributing, Inc., their ''Domestic Distributor of the Year''. According to DBL’s Chief Merchandising Officer, Henry Chiarelli, both companies have a great partnership and share a mutual strategy for new product introduction and launch, recognizing that speed to market is critical. ''Monster Cable is very easy to do business with, they are an exceptional group of people who understand the business and do all the right things to continue its growth'', Chiarelli said. ''Their knowledge, flexibility and dedication make Monster Cable one of our best assets in achieving continuous sales growth.''

''DBL Distributing is extremely pleased to be named Monster Cable Product’s 'Domestic Distributor of the Year,''' DBL’s President and CEO, David Lorsch, said. It’s gratifying to be recognized for that achievement.'' DBL’s customer base of more than 32,000 independent consumer electronic dealers and customer installation professionals is unique and diverse, often reaching customers other distributors don’t, according to Lorsch. Customers are primarily independent and have to buy, market, sell and service in ways that position them to compete with the national big-box retailers. Offering leading brand name products from the likes of Monster Cable Products enables DBL’s customer base to better compete in today’s marketplace. Lorsch went on to say that ''DBL Distributing is a preferred distributor for custom installation and design professionals because we have no minimum order size, carry more than 380 brand name manufacturers (in addition to Monster Cable) and offer same day shipping on orders received prior to 5pm MST.'' Velodyne In-Wall Subwoofer Named CEA Mark Of Excellence Finalist

Velodyne’s new patent-pending in-wall subwoofer, the SC-IW, was named a finalist in the 2007 CEA TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards. The SC-IW was nominated in the Best Speakers category.

Morgan Hill, CA (February 28, 2007) -- Velodyne’s new patent-pending in-wall subwoofer, the SC-IW, was named a finalist in the 2007 CEA TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards. The SC-IW was nominated in the Best Speakers category. Winners will be announced at the Mark of Excellence Awards Dinner on March 9, 2007 during the 8th annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2007 held in Orlando, Florida.

“We are pleased that the Velodyne SC-IW subwoofer has been named a finalist in these prestigious awards,” said Bruce Hall, president of Velodyne. “This product and the rest of the SubContractor Series were created specifically for the fast-growing installation market. We designed the SC-IW to be an easy-to-install in-wall subwoofer that delivers reference quality bass with minimal wall vibration, and can blend perfectly with any room décor.”

CEA’s Mark of Excellence Awards recognizes the finest achievements in projects, products and services in the custom electronics industry. Each awards category has a four-member judging team comprised of systems integrators, manufacturers, members of the trade press or industry consultants.

About the SC-IW
The SC-IW is an in-wall subwoofer that fits flush in a standard 2” x 4” wall, shows less than 5” high of grill area, and delivers reference quality bass performance. The SC-IW is the ideal solution for installations that demand an easy-to-install subwoofer with an unobtrusive design that won’t compete with a room’s décor, yet delivers deep, accurate and visceral bass performance with minimal wall vibration.

The SC-IW subwoofer can be used for either new construction or retro-fit installations. It features a unique two-piece cabinet design with separate driver and back box enclosures. The innovative, vertically firing T-shaped driver uses a quad spider design using a patent-pending “drive shaft,” a neodymium motor structure and a ½” thick composite drive surface. These enhancements enable an extremely long throw driver sporting more then one inch peak-to-peak travel while exhibiting exponentially less wall vibration than traditional in-wall subwoofers that fire in and out.

The SC-IW includes both a 14-inch high standard grill for easy installation and servicing and a sub-five inch high grill for the absolute minimum of visible grill area. Both grills can be painted to match the room’s décor, and feature a 90º scoop that enables the vertically firing woofer to project bass into the room.

The SC-IW is part of the SubContractor™ series of subwoofers from Velodyne. The SC series consists of the SC-8, SC-10, SC-12, SC-15, and SC-IF/IC (in-floor/in-ceiling) subwoofers, and SC-1250 amplifier.

Gefen Equips Avantgarde Acoustics Hi-Fi Showroom With Hd A/V Solution

Setting up the audio in Avantgarde Acoustics' private showroom in Huntington Beach, California was just the beginning.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA -- When Avantgarde Acoustics, based out of Frankfurt, Germany, wanted to showcase its elite audio system augmented by stunning high definition visuals, it turned to Gefen.

Their flagship horn speaker system enables an exceptional auditory experience, as if listening to live music. But to properly illustrate the capabilities of a sound driven media room, Avantgarde Acoustics knew they needed to enhance the sound with visuals.

David Day, head of business operations for Avantgarde Acoustics in the US, envisioned his showroom as a real-world environment, demonstrating how the system could be used for nearly any audio-based environment. As a result, the room was designed as a pseudo media room, sportsbar and recording studio.

Day equipped the plush, 20- by 25-foot room with a 110-inch Da-lite screen fed by a Sony VW100 projector, plus three 26-inch Sony LCD displays with access to a high definition cable box and a Microsoft Media Center.

While the audio from each source is fed into the high-end Triand complement of six bass horns, arguably the finest loudspeaker system available in the world, the HD video is delivered to multiple outputs.

To enable simultaneous viewing on the three displays and the Da-lite screen, when simulating a sports bar for example, Day added the Gefen 2x4 HDMI Switcher/Splitter to the equipment rack.

This high-end performer accepts two HDMI audio/video inputs and outputs either source to four HDMI displays and/or projectors, supporting HD video in resolutions up to 1080p.

'While some receivers will switch HDMI, that doesn't help if you need to drive multiple displays with the same signal,' explained Day.

'We found the Gefen HDMI Switcher/Splitter to be perfect for our needs because of its ability to perform both switching and signal distribution in one unit,' said Day. 'It works perfectly, the visuals are beautiful and the unit is totally plug and play.'

Designed like a contemporary media room in order to best capture the essence of the loudspeaker system's capabilities, the showroom offers a unique environment for a luxurious audio/visual experience. It is available by appointment.

Netstreams Named Finalist For 2007 Mark Of Excellence Awards

Company Earns Two Nominations for Panorama™ and Streaming Music Manager

AUSTIN, TX, – February 13, 2007 – NetStreams®, the global leader in IP Audio, Videoand Control products, announced that the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA®)TechHome Division has named the NetStreams Streaming Music Manager and NetStreams Panorama™ High Definition Multi-Room Video system as finalists for the 2007 Mark of Excellence awards. Recognizing the best in custom home electronic
products, services, and installed technology, the Mark of Excellence awards are given annually to the top manufacturers of consumer electronics products in several categories.

“NetStreams is extremely honored to have two products be named as finalists for this prestigious award,” said Kevin Reinis, president and CEO of NetStreams. “Our customers continue to rave about the performance and quality that these unique products provide.”

Nominated as a finalist in the “Best IP-Based” product category, NetStreams’ Streaming Music Manager (SMM) is the first product on the market to allow for seamless aggregation of a consumer’s music stored on multiple devices on a network. The SMM automatically finds and indexes music files from devices such as – a computer, MP3 player (such as an iPod® from Apple (NASDAQ Symbol: APPL), USB mass storage, or Network Attached Storage (NAS).

“Consumers love the fact that they don’t have to worry about where their music is on the network,” said Reinis. “The Streaming Music Manager integrates all their music automatically for them, providing an easy user experience.” The Streaming Music Manager creates a database by constantly monitoring and indexing music files for both existing and new music files; including music on devices connected via USB. When a user chooses to listen to a song, the SMM finds and plays the file via a StreamNet™ enabled IP Speaker or DigiLinX™ IP amplifier. The Streaming Music Manager also allows six different music selections and its meta-data to be streamed for simultaneous in different rooms.

Nominated as a finalist in the “Best Video Components” category, the Panorama Multi-Room Video system distributes up to four High Definition video sources to multiple displays. “With the advent of more video sources and flat panel displays, the demand for high quality, multi-room HD video has increased dramatically, and NetStreams Panorama provides high definition quality video distribution at an affordable price,” commented Reinis. Panorama can also be utilized to distribute video in large facilities -- such as airports, casinos, etc – without signal degradation from long cable runs (even up to 1,000 feet), thanks to innovative “Cable Length Compensation” (CLC) cards, which are included with the Panorama Video Ports for proper signal attenuation. Panorama can be operated as a stand-alone video distribution and control system, or integrated with the Company’s line of Musica™ or DigiLinX Multi-Room Audio systems. This versatile system distributes both digital audio (S/PDIF) as well as video. The system can be controlled via IR or RS-232 and stores IR for controlling both the sources and the displays.

A panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and journalists select winners of this award. Winners will be announced during an awards dinner on March 9, 2007 during the Electronic House Expo Spring 2007 in Orlando, Florida.

There are also five points of instant access to Life|ware in Vista’s main menu, and 2.0 features Life|connect Media – the easiest way to make your household’s media libraries available everywhere.

Life|ware 2.0 takes customization to a whole new level, allowing you to see graphically the information you want on each menu. Life|scenes, too, can be easily re-learned – letting you continually evolve them as your life changes over time. Finally, 2.0’s forthcoming Life|connect Remote software let’s you take a standard Media Center remote places it’s never been before.

“There has been tremendous anticipation on how Vista and Life|ware will enhance digital living, and the NextGen Home at IBS 2007 will give that first public glimpse,” says Mike Seamons, Exceptional Innovation’s vice president of marketing.

At IBS 2007, Life|ware will manage the NextGen Home and numerous sub system partner products in the 2,200 square foot home located directly behind West Hall. The home will feature Life|ware connected partners, representing products from lighting, HVAC, distributed audio and security products, as well as HP Digital Entertainment Centers with Windows Vista Media Center Edition, Exceptional Innovation hardware, including Life|vision™, Life|link™, and Life|controller™ and the award winning Life|point™ high definition touch panels. The home will be open to IBS Attendees during show hours starting on February 7th and ending on February 10th.
