B&W the famed speaker manufacturer has recently went on tour with Intel to help promote the Intel powered Windows Home Server–a media solution for consumers. Intel has been a leader in promoting and developing media technology for consumers for at least ten years. They step up to the plate a bit and show that a good speaker can go along way to making your media more compelling and enjoyable. Below you will find a note on this from B&W followed by a couple of photos.
At CES 2009, Intel® Corporation and Microsoft launched Windows Home Server software and the hardware to run it in the form of the HP MediaSmart Server (see www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/mediasmart-server/#)
I thought that this was an interesting development and stopped by the very large Intel booth to check it out. To demonstrate the package, they were playing an audio system that, shall we say, was less than inspiring. I spoke with the gentleman in charge of this part of the exhibit, Steve Waskul, who turned out to be a real audio enthusiast well acquainted with our brands. He acknowledged that they were using the products on the stand largely because they had been offered. Long story short, they are now using B&W and Classe in their active demonstrations at all shows for 2009. Given that Intel is a major, globally recognized technology leader and a dominating presence at some of the largest and most important shows, I see this as a great opportunity for B&W and Classe branding.
Imbedded in the memo are some pictures from the recent CeBit show in Hanover, Germany earlier this month. Some 18,000 people a day passed through their exhibit, which was its own pavilion. A number of upcoming shows will also highlight our products; see list below. It is our expectation that participation in these shows will bring further recognition to our brands and elevate the status of Bowers & Wilkins and Classé products among tens of thousands of tech savvy people.
