The HTPC group and LinkedIn has a new artice, Managing Movie Collections - Making it Easy to Access Content, which explains the capanilites of MyMovies in some detail. Here are some excerpts:
The second solution is a 3rd party add-on for Media Center that will consolidate movie content in several formats from WMV, DVR-MS and even ripped DVDs. This solution is called My Movies and the basic operation is free with additional features being available through contribution to the sites library or donations to the programmers. While this model works for the HTPC hobbyist and advanced customers, this not be may be right for integrators who wish to provide the service. However, in the words of Douglas Adams, DON’T PANIC, as there is an integrator program that allows for this feature to be sold to the customer and preinstalled on any Media Center sold.
Several Media Center based server manufacturers already use My Movies within their units, but for those that are not from one of these manufacturers My Movies can be added for the best movie locating experience.
